Nigella For The Stylist

I love Nigella – she is undoubtedly the Queen of Domestic Goddessness. This month she created some exclusive recipes for the Stylist, and I was asked to illustrate her for the issue.

Click here for the link and click here for the video of the salted caramel covered shoot.

There is also a nice article in The Stylist about it. here

Sainsbury’s Magazine December 2011

Last month I was asked by the lovely people at Sainsbury’s Magazine to illustrate their December beauty feature. I received the magazine in the post this week and judging by the packaging it looks like one hungry dog attacked it!

By Brilliant Jewellery

I was asked to create four illustrations for By Brilliant’s website to accompany their online jewellery collections, the jewellery itself was to sit on top of the illustrations. The four looks were English Rose, Boho Beauty, Girl About Town and Lady Fabulous.

Vogue Japan

This month’s look is Givenchy and the theme was ‘eccentric’. Do you like her panther shadow? It was the best way to incorporate it into the illustration.

And for those of you who like the sketches (I always do) here is some work in progress…

Sunny Gu

I was contacted by a lovely illustrator from L.A. Her name is Sunny Gu and her work is truly beautiful, you can see it here

She says of her work ‘My illustrations are always full of vibrant colors, rich details and delightful feelings. My work, on the other hand, is an endless journey searching for beauty, value, truth and self. When I paint, I am bathed in happiness, and I hope my colorful illustrations can bring you some joy too. ” I think that is a lovely sentiment to hope that what you do will bring joy to someone. She also posted up some work in progress and that got me thinking I should be doing that too so I’m going to do a few wip posts.

New Projects

I’ve been so busy recently getting everything finished before we go on our travels. We’re off to Australia for 6 weeks – any tips on places to visit cool shops bars etc. most welcome please. We’re flying with Emirates on an airbus A380 – the largest plane in the world! They even have sky nannies!

We’ll be travelling between Sydney and Melbourne staying with family and visiting friends then flying to Auckland. I’ll try and do a couple of wee posts while I’m away and I plan to take my paints with me too.

I have some really exciting projects lined up when we get back…One is Vogue Japan, I’ll be illustrating the Editor’s Letter for the September Issue. In a way that means I’m working for ADR the creative director and editor at large of Vogue Nippon

I’ve been asked to create some illustrations for the gorgeous jewellery website Brilliant Inc Jewellery Interestingly they use simulated diamonds. They say they are ethically grown in state of the art laboratories under precise conditions. Hand set, durable and beautiful BRILLIANTINC simulated diamonds give you all the beauty without blowing your savings account. So if you’re someone who enjoys affordable luxury consider BRILLIANTINC diamond simulants. Prepare to be amazed and complimented! Oh and they are brilliant, they will definately give your finger some bling!
